My sister and friends have gotten there license here and had no complaints. The drivers test was fair and the staff is kind.
For those complaining about answering phones I believe you can set up appointments online! Which is super convenient. A lot of places aren't walk in unless it specifically says so. I'm planning on taking my drivers test here so I'll come back with my own personal experience soon. 😊

Should be walk in, never answer or line is always busy.
Edit- changed to 1 star other than 2. Contacted by email. Got a 10:15 appointment, showed up @10:15 other guy was waiting, lady came out the door she asked for me but the other guy said I have a 10:30 appointment, she took him first 😂 what?
Edit 2- lady was nice and personable. I feel bad so 3 stars. Still wish it were walk in for license at least. Needs more staff if they're getting a lot of traffic.

Went in to get my plates/tags renewed on my vehicles. The department was clean with multiple markings for those worried about Covid. The staff was quick to assist me and friendly the whole time. Very quick and allowed me to go about my day. Great work.

My friend took his driving test in Boone and failed, the driving instructor told him she failed him because he wasn't stopping for 3 seconds at the stop signs, a couple weeks later the same instructor failed his niece because she was stopping for 3 seconds and that was too long. Obviously they need a new instructor that's the little more consistent.

They do not answer the phone, there’s not a way to do appointments and nobody can tell you what to do because, they don’t answer the phone!
