Toured this place - staff were visibly defeated, building was in need of serious up keep, and residents looked like prisoners. I asked point blank about the things I saw- the response was - we are sending someone from corporate to help - lol turns out, that person never really ever visited- is all talk and no real world experience that is actually needed / like how the little things matter - paint - vacuum- sun shine and treating the folks who live there like it’s their home and not that they are in prison. I think they are on their 3rd or 4th executive director search in 12 months -
Brookdale should fire every executive that has ever overseen this place.

Brookdale, Cape Cod has such a welcoming feeling the minute you walk in you can just feel the good vibes in the air. I was so impressed with the center the staff was very welcoming and I must say they are very lucky to have such an amazing executive Director Elise.Cecil. Elise is just lovely and was very thorough about everything in the community and so helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to have a family member move in to Brookdale, at Cape Cod.

Don’t bring your family to live here And definitely don’t work here. Not enough aids, cna to provide adequate care. And your family is paying a fortune to be locked up they get no stimulation they don’t even get to go outside, in a place where they don’t even care enough about employees to provide support and help. Don’t get me started on how dirty the building is! Absolutely disgusting. Majority of this has to do with memory care side..if I could I’d take all the residents out of there, they deserve better it all comes down to cooperate, all they care about is money and a step down is management, poor management leads to employee turnover. Underpaid and overworked of the care these residents needs. I hope their dirty work and unfairness and money obsessed comes to light and justice is served.

Very happy with the loving care my friend gets at Brookdale Cape Cod. The staff in the memory care unit are very attentive to everyone’s individual needs and they do an excellent job of engaging residents in a wide range of activities through the day. And they have a great chef and the meals are exceptional.

I especially appreciated the automated sign in system which takes temps without using a thermometer. The receptionist had a non judgmental attitude about the mask wearing and Simply asked if I needed one. No other private information was required. I would give it 5 stars if there were no questions asked about my health status or Covid symptoms.

I would like to add that the facility needs bus drivers..The residents r paying for the bus service to Dr appointments and it should be available to them..also CNAs should accompany residents on bus trips to sight see at beachs as well as just taking rides..I agree with Cadna Goncalves that the residents r locked up, without much stimulation...The doors should be opened to the outside on the memory care side so residents may sit outside if they so desire..Winter is very long on Cape Cod, and the residents deserve some supervised outdoor time for Vit D ,socialization, fresh air, and to look at their surroundings..an aide can sit with them..I have not seen an exercise program while sitting in a chair or wheel chair, moving feet, legs, arms, head..they could easily put a program on the large screen in activity room or meet in dining room...Not enough musical entertainment on the memory care side..It's there for the regular assisted living side, but not for the memory care side..They r jipped on the Memory care side...I have not seen them paint pictures with water colors..or with crayons...I dont hear them singing songs in a group being led by an aide...hymns or national anthems...haven't seen them work with florals..to make bouquets...or charades...games...

Was a little frustrating with the new sign in system. We couldn’t reach bc we are both in wheelchairs. They were willing to help and did- but the nurse who helped stayed “well this is what we have”. I did tell her that I was only giving her info to pass on that it would be nice if they were made handicapped accessible. But everyone was kind and we are very staified with out Moms care

Relaxed and hyggelig (cozy)! Saw many residents engaged in activities with each other and was was greeted warmly everywhere. Residents looked fit and healthy for their age. Beautiful garden with fire pit, where one can enjoy the Cape Cod stars at night.
