A BIG Thank You to your snow plow operators. Twice this season (I'm still shocked we've gotten 2 significant snowfalls here!) I've watched them take the extra time to move the mounds that inevitably are pushed into our shoveled driveways and make sure all mailboxes are accessible.

Today I was confronted by a very unpleasant Carroll County worker in a snow plow who pushed snow in front of my neighbors driveway. I used my snowblower to push it back into the street in a thin mist..He pulls up next to me and said he would appreciate it if I wouldn’t throw it into the street and that he wasn’t plowing for his health. Come on man, do your job and take your frustrations out on someone else. My tax dollars go to pay your salary. How hard is it for you to use your big plow to move a dusting off the street? His demeanor was unpleasant and he scared me a little bit. I didn’t know if he was going to jump out of his truck and hurt me. His plow was responsible for pushing the snow in front of my neighbors driveway. What am I supposed to do get a heat blower and melt it? It was on the corner of Bennet Branch Road and Hickory Court in Mount Airy. I think he needs to do some serious thinking about whether he wants to continue working in this capacity. It’s terrible when you do a good deed and you get criticized by someone.

A couple weeks ago I noticed our main roads were pre-treated AHEAD OF a storm predicted for Mon late afternoon. I had to drive to a different county Mon am for work and appreciated Carroll County even more when I drove through 2 other counties and part of the route included another state... NONE of the others were pre-treated! The pre-treated lines ended at Carroll’s edge! I was so relieved to get back to Carroll ahead of that storm! We are so blessed & grateful for all those working so hard to keep us all safe! THANK YOU!!!

I had the misfortune of having to follow not one but two mowers on Coon club Road today. there were many opportunities where they could've pulled over to let a line of traffic go by but they chose not to.....so we are all stuck behind two large mowers and we can't go anywhere. It was 8 o'clock in the morning so you can imagine how many of us are going to be late for work 😡

I contacted this office to report some terrible potholes on a county road. They called me back the next morning at 8:30 to get more details and today when I went on that road, the potholes had already been repaired. I was astonished and was very impressed with the great customer service.

This county can't handle 3 inches of snow. They say they have been out for 12 hrs, what a joke. God help us if we get a blizzard, we'll be trapped for months
