The positives- The employees were friendly and the facility was very nice.
The negatives-
▪️The ESL “training” was useless. Many ESL volunteers were/are retired teachers, which is perfect. Those of us who weren’t felt ill prepared.
▪️Staff organization and communication was lacking. (CMC forgetting to send a driver to pick up client for lessons.)

The center offers lots of resources for many needs, particularly for immigrants and women. I have everything from food pantry and gently used clothing for free to English lessons for people who want to learn it, and many things in between

Wonderful place. They help refugee's, it is a school, they help with community resources. They have a decent food bank as well. The women's services program is AMAZING! The staff are wonderful and very helpful and involved with the assistance needed to better our lives. They are a major advocate for Women's Equality and hold a Women's Equality Day event. They help people get connected with community resources and it has been the most amazing experience. The women's services program has great groups and I have learned so much about myself here. They have transitional and supportive housing opportunities. They also offer volunteering hours as well. Kristin, the Women's Service's director is super super nice and caring and understanding. The case workers are phenomenal and all staff are hard working. Paula the executive director is very nice and listens to concerns. It is all around a very effective program and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who is serious about better their lives all around.

The staff here are so great! You can tell that everyone here is super passionate about helping people and are dedicated to getting resources for the women served. You couldn’t ask for a better group of people to look out for the needs of yourself or a loved one going through a rough transitional period.

I lived at Catherine McAuley Center for 2 years. It was the most awesome experience a women could ever have. Finding who she really is gaining self-acceptance and being able to look in in the mirror and Truly say I love this women is where it all started. By applying and following just some easy simple rules that only took common sense to follow. Now I give back by helping girls there and will continue to do so.

This place, staff and volunteers has been a blessing to our family (7 members). We have been learning English there, we did our whole Citizenship process through CMC. We got better jobs, salaries and the quality of our lives has improved a lot with their help, we don't need interpreters services now because we work as interpreters for others in our Hispanic community. God bless Cedar Rapids and CMC!
