We recently adopted a cat, his name is Angus formally known as cotton. The Foster family was amazing. The Humane Society made it quick easy and make sure the fur babies go to good homes. It was hard, not adopting several more.

A great organization that really takes good care of the animals. I love that they place as many animals in foster homes as possible. I adopted my cat a week ago and she adjusted so quickly! She was well trained!

I've never had a bad experience with the Humane Society until just now. It really upsets me that people that are supposed to be here to help animals in need can be so rude and completely unhelpful. I take care of a large feral colony right down the road from them. I have several cats that are in need of veterinary care right now and they don't need to wait. I just spent almost $1k over the weekend trying to save my poor kitten that very unfortunately did not make it. I'm taking another to the vet today that is in real bad shape. I can only afford so much. I know there are vets that volunteer with the Humane Society because I have spoken with some directly who do. So I called to see if any of those vets could help see some of the cats in my colony, because after this vet visit today I'm tapped out for a while. I explained my situation, and was very rudely told that they don't have a vet on staff there. When I asked if they could offer any suggestions or advice for my situation she very rudely just repeated to me the same thing she had just said, that they do not have a vet on staff. I knew that already. But I also KNOW they have vets that volunteer. This woman showed no sympathy for these cats and made it very obvious that she didn't care. Someone like that should not be answering the phone at the Humane Society. I can completely understand if there's nothing they can do to help, but show a little compassion.

Was hoping they had a little cat food as I was broke and my cats had not eaten in 3 days. Unfortunately they did not. I know in the past I donated dog food after my animals passed for them to give to others in need. Wish they had a pantry again for cats too.

We had adopted a cat from one of their satellite locations and unfortunately it was sick and it died 32 hours after we had adopted it. However, the staff was so sympathetic and compassionate that they asked us to bring his body back and they allowed us to pick another cat in their shelter, we found a beautiful cat that meets our needs and is exactly what we’re looking for. I want to speak high praise for the staff for what they did for us and it is a fluke that they have a cat that would die so soon after adoption, but it’s not their fault. I highly recommend them to everyone to adopt an animal from because it is a clean, safe place and make sure all the cats have every single vaccination required.

We tried adopting dogs from other places but none were as accommodating and patient as the Humane Society of Carroll County. Friendly people at all steps of the process. They were patient while we looked at the dog we ended up adopting and willing to answer any questions we had to the best of their ability. You can even tell how much they care for their dogs. Makes me wish we never would've tried the other places.
