This place saved my life. Ivory Plaines has been reinvented and the staff is amazing. Beautiful souls to the core the techs, counselors, nursing staff and leadership. I have been an aerospace engineer most of my life and this place inspired me to work in their same field, to help others.
If you or a loved one needs help, call ivory Plaines, I am an alum and gain zero benefit recommending this place but only experienced it first hand. You will find yourself again!! If one of the staff there reads this, you have a special place in my heart.

Not a good facility, counselors not qualified, long wait for medications. Many people did not attend groups, seems like a place that is only interested in Medicaid money. Employees paid horribley. A couple staff members were great ! Hi Lindsey, glad we stay in touch. I had a zoom call with a company that was investigating Ivory Plains, told them my thoughts, not good, met 4 wonderful clients there and still stay in touch, I believe they have been shut down twice since I was there. Go to Prairie Ridge in Mason City, you might actually learn something !!

I've been sober since arriving at Ivory Plains almost 6 months ago. The staff was very caring even when stretched thin by too many patients. If you are looking for a place to detox in the middle of nowhere, you can safely find sobriety here. My only complaint would be a lack of regular outdoor activity and slow weekends. We did find a way to play some great basketball and kickball games. Hope everyone is doing well who I met.

No mental health counseling. High employee turnover. A safe comfortable place to gather your wits. Food is OK. Salad bar and cereal always available along with coffee. There is little aftercare preparation. Even the limited counselors seem to be unaware of what's going on. My recommendation is detox at a hospital not in a seven man room with valium. Get into a place that has degreed and licensed counselors that don't just ask a weekly series of questions and give you print outs. This is a glorified homeless shelter in rural Iowa. I got more out of my interactions with other "clients".

JUST GRADUATED! I LOVE IVORY PLAINS! I have 25 days sober today and I couldn't have done it with out these guys. The staff is amazing! I learned alot about sobriety and life. I am forever grateful for Ivory Plains❤️

Ivory Plains has AMAZING staff from counselors to the nurses and techs and everywhere in-between! I am forever thankful for the amazing experience and will be recommending them to everyone who asks about treatment! Before I went to Ivory Plains, I was a complete mess. I was drinking everyday just isolating myself in my house. I couldn't hold a job, I barley left the house. I was basically rock bottom. When I arrived at Ivory, it was a little out of my comfort range at first since it was my first time in treatment, but thanks to the staff and peers I began to love it pretty quickly. The staff actually cares and isn't just there to do a job, they genuinely care. With all the support and a well ran system it made my experience much more easier than I expected and had a good time through the 4 weeks I was there. I highly recommend anyone who has substance abuse problems and is seeking for help to give them a call.

Most residents are mandated to be there. I was terrified. Staff very nice. Detox process left up to the resident who is most likely unable to know what is going on. Medication lines can take hours during only a few hours each day, so you sit there for hours at a time waiting to receive meds. No outdoor time unless you smoke. Of the 16 hour daily schedule, approximately 4 hours in “class”. Smoke breaks every hour. Otherwise you must remain indoors.
