My mother was a resident at John B. Parsons for almost two years and resided there up until her passing in March 2025. Although she would have preferred to have lived independently in her own home, this was not possible as she required 24 hour care mostly due to being a fall risk among other ailments. Mom was happy at Parsons and the staff got to know her "spicy" personality and this made the tasks that she liked the least easier to manage. Mom loved the many activities offered and even though she would often say she did not go to the events, I would see pictures of her at almost every event on John B. Parson's social media page. She became quite friendly with not only the "resident" pup but the visiting therapy animals as well as the many staff members who so graciously cared for her. Mom was treated with dignity, respect, love and care every step of the way and I could not have asked for anything more from an assisted living community. If you are looking for a place to call home for your loved one, look no further as John B. Parsons is it!

We have very pleased with the care that our aunt receives at John B. Parsons. The building is a lovely old Victorian with a very cozy atmosphere. The chef and kitchen staff prepare a variety of dishes that are delicious. The care staff are very kind and patient. There are also planned activities available to residents. Everyone loves the weekly ice cream social and various holiday celebrations.

John B. Parsons is like home away from home. Staff are like family. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming, and house dog Henry makes all the residents feel relaxed and at home. The charming Ice cream parlor is always a favorite! I highly recommend John B. Parsons for a Respite stay, or long term care for your loved ones.

The atmosphere at John B Parson's is one of an home instead of an institution. All of the staff get to know the residents, they are attentive to their needs. I am POA for a dear friend who spent two years in another facility in town before I moved her to John B. Parsons. There is a different atmosphere at John B than other places I've visited. There is a warm, homey feeling as soon as you walk in the door. I can't say enough about the leadership and staff, they genuinely care about their residents. It starts with the hands-on nurses and aids to the resident activities planning to the beautiful, interesting building and finally the food - it's awesome! My friend Stella has been there almost three years and I am so grateful to all the staff at John B for keeping her so happy and healthy these years. I highly recommend John B. Parsons for your loved one.

I would give 20 stars if I could. My father’s dementia progressed so fast & I was at a loss of how to find a safe, professional, caring place for him.

He was at a skilled nursing facility, but it was not set up for keeping him from walking out front door. That same day Peggy Tyler, Executive Director showed up - it was a miracle.

She saved him & us - within an hour he was safely transported & cared for.

The staff is amazing - & I can sleep at night knowing he has the very best.

My Aunt has been a resident at John B. Parson Harrison Senior Living in Salisbury, Maryland for nine months. The kind and caring staff and nurses that take care of my Aunt and other residents is truly remarkable. Their patience and understanding when interacting with my Aunt gives me great comfort in knowing that my Aunt is in their care. I am also thankful that my Aunt resides in a senior living facility that has a wonderful Executive Director, Peggy Tyler, who is always ready to help in any way to ensure the well-being of my Aunt.
