I agree, if you care about your loved one, don't send them to Largo Nursing and Rehab. The doctor I'm sure is retired and is there for a check. I saw him twice, when she first got there and when I demanded an ambulance. He stayed a good 10 feet from her and and maybe asked one question. He needed to stay retired. The place a has a unique odor that hung in my nose after I left. In the time she was there, the room was never cleaned. I had to ask for someone to clean the bathroom. Also, there was a dirty/stained pillow case. The first day, I thought they would see it and remove it. The second day, someone removed it and left the pillow uncovered. The dirty pillow case was still near her bed. The third day, they put the same dirty pillow case back on the pillow!. The forth day I complained and demanded they giver her a clean pillow case.
She was there just over a week. I demanded they call an ambulance, Turns out she had the flu (caught it from her newly admitted roommate), bronchitis, 102.3 temperature, a UTI, and a bed score. All that in just over a week. She (90 yrs old) would probably be gone had I not gone have her taken to the hospital. She was completely lethargic and unresponsive. Completely different from the days before. The kitchen staff was nice.

Largo's 1st floor is well lit and appears to be newly renovated. So far, admin have been welcoming, are knowledgeable, and do check ins with my mom and family to make sure things are going as well as could be expected. The therapists OT/PT/ST have been upbeat and ready to share progress and strategies to work toward independence. The nursing staff: some have been communicative, willing and responsive to my mom's needs while others might need practice with respect to bedside manner. Cleanliness could use some improvement.

Prior to having my parent stay at Largo Rehab, I went to see the facility. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the Admissions Director Dria Chavis. She took me on a tour of the facility where I was able to see the resident rooms, therapy rooms, outdoor area etc. In the beginning I was very skeptical however, Dria soon relieved my skepticism. I could tell that she was very passionate about what she does. She treats the residents with the same care and respect as if they were her own family. Based solely off the strength of our first meeting, I felt comfortable having my parent stay at here. She would even go so far as to personally check on my parent before she left for the day. Overall, it was a good experience whereas some of the staff are top tier others need to improve their bedside manner.

My father in law was here for longterm rehab for his severe gout. While there he was mostly confined to his bed in a shared room. He was supposed to be on a restricted diet for his gout but the food they served was not at all good for gout (and not tasty either). While at Manor Care, he caught the flu. They knew this and were not checking in on him regularly. My brother in law visited him and he was hallucinating they called 911. The paramedic came to check on him the paramedic asked the hospital for a thermometer. After waiting 15 minutes, his fever was over 102 which is incredibly dangerous particularly for someone with poor health. They knew he had the flu on top of his existing medical condition and they weren't checking his temperature or even his consciousness and overall wellbeing. The paramedic recommend we report this rehab facility to the state. Consider another facility for you loved ones as this is not a suitable care facility for people with serious medical conditions. If this is your only option, check in on your loved one regularly as the staff is not likely doing the same.

It took me a while to post this because unfortunately my father did pass away but I need to spread awareness. How your staff is treated is how the patients will be treated. Not everyone was bad but for the people that were it really stuck with me. If you have a loved one who comes here pleaseeeee check on your loved one everyday, especially to make sure they are fed, and haven’t been in a wet diaper all day. My family and I saw my father everyday and he ended up getting injured pretty bad overnight , and they couldn’t even tell us the name of the nurses who found him on the ground to help him up to explain what happened. I really feel for patients who are alone. To me everything starts from the top. The people who own this facility please take care of your employees because it reflects in the quality of care 100%, and if you are a healthcare worker who clearly doesn’t have a passion or even the slightest interest in patient care, please im begging you LEAVE THE HEALTHCARE FIELD NOWW!! You transgressions with your employer should not affect the oath you take to care for these patients. I wish I felt differently but I don’t. Thank you for your efforts in caring for my father during his rehab. I pray this message makes a difference.

I’m so impressed by Largo Rehab’s renovations, the friendliness of the staff and the awesome social services team especially Jasmine P., she is professional, efficient and caring. Sky Bridge at Town, a 55+ senior living community looks forward to continued partnership in care.

This facility is Horrible. My mother was there from August 15 to September 3rd, 2024. My mother has an ostomy bag and the nurses were not skilled in draining or changing the bags. Her bag constantly leaked, and they took forever to come change the bag and clean my mother. I address this concern on several occasions. The nurses were rude, lazy and some are there just for a paycheck. The mission statement on their website is a joke. They are not professional and provide below bare minimum care for the patients. Do not send your loved ones there. I wouldn't even send a dog there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
