Maplewood at Mill Hill is a beautiful community. The building still looks as nice as the day it opened. The food is excellent and you can even watch the chefs prepare meals. There are several activities daily to choose from and they even take residents on their bus for rides to get them out of building for some fresh air. It clearly shows that the staff work well together to provide great care and provide a great living environment.

As an outside Community Provider, Mill Hill has been an outstanding partner in collaboration of care for their residents aging in place with the ability to live out their lives fully where they call home. The quality of care of the Wellness Team is exceptional as they truly love and care for their residents like family. The Executive Director goes above and beyond to make sure that all needs are met for each resident, will step in to assist his team and to comfort each family as it can be a difficult transition. Residents are highly engaged in a full range of activities and the staff are respectful of their desires and willingness to participate. I would highly recommend for aging loved ones to call Mill Hill their forever home.

Maplewood at mill hill has been a wonderful place for my mother to live. She has been there for almost two years now in memory care. The care and structure she has received at mill hill has actually helped her to improve! She is overall happier and more stable. We are very grateful for such improvement.

Maplewood at Mill Hill has completely turned our Mom’s life around. She has lived there now for nearly a year. When our dad passed Mom insisted on staying at home for several years. We took care of her and had professional services she needed provided at her home, but it resulted in her declining health and mental status. Even when we had 24-hour care it got to a point where she was constantly having UTIs, staying in bed almost all of the time, not eating well, was a high risk of falling, and in a state of dementia. I was constantly taking her to stressful doctor appointments. After a long and difficult emergency visit to the hospital I was able to get her into a skilled nursing facility, but it was evident she needed something more long-term. The staff at Mill Hill quickly and capably admitted her to the memory care unit and provided a lovely and comfortable environment, improved her overall health and nutrition, provided excellent medical services and medication management, pleasant daily social activities, and even things like hairdressing and pedicure services as needed. The improvement is so remarkable that she has “graduated” out of memory care and moved to assisted living, where she enjoys her independence. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. There are frequent events held which include family members, plus live entertainment, arts and games, exercise, and bus trips for the residents to get them out together. The staff is caring and constantly monitoring all residents. The concierge greeters are welcoming and amazing. Mom is much more coherent, has gained mobility, and looks forward to enjoying her time with new friends daily. We could not have made a better decision. The surprising fact is that it actually costs less for her to live there than it did to live at home and bring in all the services she needed. I highly recommend Maplewood at Mill Hill to anyone with an aging relative who needs care. It is not only beneficial to the relative, but it is also a blessing and relief to the caregivers. Watching the staff interact with my mom and other residents at Mill Hill gives me such comfort and confidence that my mom is living at the best location she could be. My mom's one room apartment is located on the second floor, which is the Tides level of care. She's been a resident since Jan 2021. The Activities director and associates use humor and warmth to engage my mom and other residents in the daily range of activities, which is key to her enjoyment of living at Mill Hill. I've joined in on some activities when visiting, and am impressed with residents who choose to work 2 bingo cards and help their neighbors. My mom and the friends she's made enjoy the chair exercise class each morning which I've also joined when visiting, and they all enjoy the special celebrations with music and food for all sorts of interesting holidays. The weekly Mill Hill van outings are fun and safe and my mom enjoys getting out and about to see different spots on the Cape with her Mill Hill friends. There is a daily post lunch walk, outside on the paved nature path when weather permits, or inside.The building itself is new and fresh and has a great floorpan so there are many sitting areas and places to stroll to after lunch, or with her friends without getting lost. The wellness staff is gentle and helpful with administering daily medications. There is a visiting dentist and podiatrist and doctor/RN who come to Mill Hill regularly and my mom takes advantage of the regular dental care, foot care, and regular wellness visits. The Mill Hill salon is another convenience and my mom gets regular haircuts. There is weekly housecleaning of her apartment and all her laundry is taken care of. The Executive Director is excellent with her communication to the families, sending group email updates to keep us informed about upcoming holiday arrangements, flu/Covid shot clinics, and any info we need to know. My brother and I feel very fortunate that our mom is part of the caring Mill Hill Community.

My brothers and our entire extended family have been so grateful to have Mill Hill's help in caring for our beautiful mother. She has been treated with dignity, grace, and love since the moment of her arrival - and we have too. The staff members - from the front desks to the kitchen staff - have been wonderful in doing all they can to keep her safe, healthy and happy. They are all so impressive. Communication has been excellent, particularly with regard to COVID. We can count on our questions being responded to quickly and compassionately. And when we walk in the door, even just to drop something off, we are always welcomed as family. Alzheimer's is a devastating disease, but with the support of everyone at Mill Hill, our mum and our family members are all getting wonderful care and support.

What can be a difficult and life changing decision for an aging parent was made much easier by the experienced staff and extended caregivers at the Mill Hill Residences. From the moment we stepped through the doors my mother was welcomed and cared for with a kind and compassionate heart. The assistance with all of the paperwork and logistics were handled flawlessly. The coordination of ancillary health care professionals especially during the past couple of years was done without sacrificing patient care, while respecting the wishes of the family and retaining the dignity of my mother. i have and will continue to recommend The Mill, for others facing the need to find appropriate care for their aging loved ones.
