Maryland's DHS have the most incompetent workers you can find. You have to call these people at least five times to get anything solved. You have to stay on them, because they will act like they solved your problem and ain't do nothing. How hard is it to reissue a check sent to the wrong address after you have given them the right address twice. I wish Trump would replace these idiots

Barely replies and when they do, seems like 99% of the time they will blatantly hang up on you. Got past the automated replies and Joan Sterling themself answered, then of course hung up in the middle of introducing. Love how dedicated to not actually doing anything this department is.

Had to call about an issue regarding my son's SunBucks card and it was so difficult just to get a live person. Then I get a live person and she just talks to you like you're not a human being and doesn't explain why she's asking certain questions and gets defensive when you ask. I was put on hold multiple times only for her to tell me to call the number that's on the back of the card. But that system is only automated stuff and I needed to speak with a live person. A total waste of 30 minutes. I can't STAND dealing with anyone working for the state.

I applied for a Job through DHS, added my resume, diploma, and transcript to the application. Told me I didn't not have the experience, even though they told me they do not look at resumes since it is not part of the application. Which is where my experience is located. Absolutely embarrassing for the only place EVER that I can attach my resume as my work history and have it not count. Get better DHS. Also if you get reviewed by Ms. Walker, she is the passive aggressive type along with her supervisor Mr. Waddel. Not enjoyable reading emails from them basically saying that they are too lazy to read a resume.

This is a terrible department they never answer they make you wait almost an hour on hold and just end your call i have been trying to talk to somebody from this department since March still no luck, my court case in November i showed proof child support money sent to my son mother they took it and told me it will be put on file after that i owed maybe close to 5k in arrears judge and her lawyer said they will add it to the arrears and they never did on my child support account it says i owe almost 9k like what? I also cant speak to anyone to tell them they are wrong. I guess i will print out the proof again and mail it to dhs and hope they actually do their job. Complete failed system.

Maryland Department human services is the worst. I literally have been applying for 3years now with my daughter having a disability because I work I can’t get any public any help whatsoever. I pay my taxes every year therefore when I’m in a crisis I can’t any help. It’s really sucks that mental health has become bad due to our nation whereas single mothers get no help from the government. I am a legal American citizen and never once have I received government assistance I reached out one time I really need help and I get a big turn around for three years now. I’m devastated that my follow government assistance programs doesn’t care. It’s sad to see so many people in Baltimore homeless. I’m not on drugs I don’t have a lot children perhaps I guess that makes me not qualify
