1 stars - Discrimination and Unfair Treatment at River House

I'm writing this review as a warning to other survivors of gender-based violence, particularly women of color. My experience at River House was nothing short of traumatic.

During my stay, I witnessed and experienced firsthand discrimination based on the color of my skin. A white woman took my property, and instead of addressing the issue and holding the perpetrator accountable, the staff at River House kicked out the black woman - me, the victim.

I'm still trying to process why the perpetrator wasn't asked to leave, but instead, I was punished for being a victim. This experience has left me feeling re-traumatized, anxious, and questioning the safety and inclusivity of River House.

As a survivor of gender-based violence, I was already vulnerable and seeking refuge. River House's failure to provide a safe and supportive environment is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and blatant disregard for the well-being of women of color is appalling.

I urge other women, particularly those from marginalized communities, to exercise caution when considering River House as a safe haven. I urge those who are providing funding to withhold funding to the River House. Discrimination is not acceptable and especially when a woman is fleeing for her life. Until they address these issues and provide a genuinely inclusive and supportive environment, I would not recommend River House to anyone.

If you are homeless and need a place you could do worst. Best part is there is plenty of food at all times. Negatively there is only one counselor to help with your needs and she is always busy doing something. The cots one sleeps on are in 17 pieces that need to be assembled and disassembled daily, and you can't lay down until 9 o'clock and need to be up at 7

You accept woman beaters to live there. Shame on you. You have a woman beater living there now. He was just on channel 5 news for severe domestic violence. How could you house this monster?

Counselor Brie is very kind and she will do all that is possible within her powers to help you, whether its writing a letter or making phone calls on your behalf, to counseling you to make better decisions. Her door is always open for help.

The City of Beverly has failed to create new trails where non exist. New Buildings Everywhere and money passed around. Tina deserves a Presidential award for what she & her staff do with what little is given.The living quarters are fundamentally flawed. Illegals non detention have civilized quarters. Beverly's Mayor is not "Au Courant" with communal health codes or standards. Also, had little respect for Beverly's Historic Inheritance. Apartments, Condos and sale of Beverly's Historic sites for business gains. Why did the real estate tax increase when tax income from New Apartment projects could be at an all the high? Has the Globalist underworld invaded Beverly as Well.

It used to be a decent place to stay through troubled times. Then it was taken over, dismantled, and turned into another cold hard homeless hating "lifebridge".

Generous and caring. Bree the caseworker is the best she will go out of her way just to help
