Cockroaches on floor daily. Food is the lowest quality imaginable. Canned vegetables, you never see a salad, the “soup” is worse than any canned soup I’ve seen. You get white rice and a scoop of mashed potatoes daily (for the same meal). You are NEVER told what the “food” will be, no menus are given each week. The food is artificial or heavily processed. I’m diabetic and do not eat pork, but they send sausage and bacon and all kinds of corn syrup and sugar added items. Once I made the mistake and ate one and my blood sugar went up to 300. There’s ZERO care for the diabetic. They sent me a dietitian after I begged for one to help the kitchen prepare diabetes friendly food but guess what. She said we can plan menus but the kitchen can’t order what we plan. So what good is it. They do not buy alternative food choices. You might get tofu but it’s swimming in vegetable oil, and served with white rice and fake mashed potatoes. Or a single garden burger with the same. And a pile of the same canned vegetables. Or chicken. EVERY DAY.

There are a few good nurses who care. Most everyone else views any time they spend with you as an imposition. So you live with this feeling that everyone resents doing their job for you. You are conditioned to not ask for what you know you should get. The same person who delivers your “food” tray is the one who just cleaned a bowel movement. They are also the ones who check your vitals. They are short regular staff (no wonder) and the contract nurses are mostly incompetent or just nasty. Had one show up with “my regular insulin injection” (I don’t have a regular injection of insulin) and I had to argue with her that it was an error. Other medication negligence as well, like missing meds ordered, switching meds without notice to me, and duplicating meds. They don’t have the knack of ordering your meds in advance before they run out. The pharmacy takes 3 days to get your meds and I didn’t have my antibiotics and a diabetes med. The omissions caused me severe medical health setbacks. Once they lost my meds for days.

The admissions person is completely clueless and in no way knowledgeable about how things actually work. She misrepresented many things. For one example, there is no PT or OT every day and you never know when or what day it’s coming for you. The PT/OT people are good but that’s probably because they are independent contractors.

You don’t get a clean towel or pillowcase after it hits the floor with the cockroaches because they are “short”. The linens are stained and have other people’s hair in them. You have to wait for a clean up for when they finally get clean towels. And they do not use wipes which mean you must supply your own or the same towel that cleaned a bowel movement is used. Only one clean pillowcase is allowed and that’s if they have it. Get used to having things done for you on their schedule, not in any way based on your need. They will try to give you meds back to back when it’s 3x a day just because the nurse wants to get it off the list. Many fights on that issue. 3x a day does not mean 11:00am then 12:00 pm.

And forget complaining. They make it to be that you are just asking for too much. Good luck in communicating with everyone. All with thick accents from other countries (none in Spanish or I could understand them). Only the outside contractors who come in are native English speaking. So to communicate, you must use simple phrases and words so they understand. Nuances of English communication are impossible.

I’m sorry for you if you or a loved one is in this place. Please make sure they have a patient advocate and can keep fighting every day to get the standard of care required. And they will need a supplement of healthy food.

This place should not be open! The staff are rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. A family member reported incidents of abuse. When I called the center, the Marcy answered the phone with “ Hello, who is this?”. They discharged the patient, after taking payment for the month. Then my questions were left unanswered, as Marcy set quietly on the phone, bee hanging up on me.

My husband stayed here for 2 months and now he is ready to go home. I can't thank you enough for the amazing job you did, guys, with my husband. Thank you also to all the staff, especially Ms. Simi, Ms. Chioma, Ms. Maria, Ms. Dina, Ms. Alison, and Ms. Alisha, And to all the nurses who assist him every day, especially Ms. Lydia, Caroline, and Barnice, and to all GNA. Thank you, everyone, for taking good care of my husband. It was a great accommodation and experience.

I recommend bringing your loved ones here.

May God bless you all!

My neighbor has been in there approximately 2 months and calls me multiple times daily crying about the lack of patient care and physical therapy she's not receiving. She was first in isolation due to COVID19, then after 10 days moved because they needed that room, and moved again a week later into a room where the other patient has made it known the didn't want a roommate and made her stay/recovery uncomfortable. Morning care is not offered to all patients, therefore she does the best she can. The meals are not appetizing, mystery meat and gravy and she either vomits or has diarrhea, then has clean herself up because no one comes to assist. They are slow in answering call lights, if at all. Responses are not given when questions are asked about medications or treatments. She has repeatedly asked for the name of the owners or directors but has yet receive it, only to be told that they are under new management. The staff seems to devote their time to patients who are long term residents not those who are short term, rehab patients. She says her bed is old, the pillow is hard and they sometimes run out of clean sheets, which are not changed daily. There are also roaches in her room and nothing has been done. Her discharge is soon but still no one has shown her how to get to the bathroom using her walker. This facility will not be recommended to anyone, if the doctor wants to send you there, RUN.

Staff is very very dedicated and attentive. No matter what the unit manager always has a smile on her face and helps her staff to provide utmost care to the residents. The social worker is one of the best in the area. I will highly recommend this facility to the community.

Customer Service:
Called to request a form and was yelled at by the staff member and then she hung up on me. She was unprofessional and just plain rude.

Level of Care for My Family Member:
My family member's belongings were not stored away for them, instead they were thrown under the bed. After being left without supervision, my family member suffered a fall. The nurse said it wasn't her fault since she can't watch a patient at all times. The lack of compassion and empathy in her tone was evident. It should be noted the patient had a known risk of falls. Just plain neglect.

Overall:
The whole place reeks of urine. The place is rundown and outdated. Other reviews say this place is neglectful and should be closed down and I fully understand it after my and my family's experience.

I would keep my loved ones far, far away from this place if possible. May God protect us and our loved ones from ever having to suffer a facility and customer service like this.
