1st I forgot about my tour. I got a message from Cherish reminding me. This week I was all apartment toured out for the week but the energy was great over the phone. All apartment on so many tours this week everything start to look the same they passed my quality check and water pressure is A1. The way this property was talking to residents like family on the tour raised my understanding of community.

I have been a resident here for a few years now and I have seen this complex through ups and downs and several management changes.

Cherish, Destiny and team have been a breath of fresh air! It’s not easy to always turn things around but they have done so with professionalism and kindness.

They really listen to the residents and work to ensure needs are met and problems are fixed to the best of their ability.

I’ve been a tenant for 2 years now and I am still confused about “Valet Trash”… like if your disable, I understand “allowing” those who are in need of the service to request the service. I have NEVER used “Valet Trash” nor do I ever plan to but yet I am still responsible for something I don’t want or need. I am never home in time to use the service and when I am home, I see a lot of tenants taking their trash to the dumpster, so why is the service included in rent and where is the money allocated to for those of us who don’t use “Valet Trash” services?

And most importantly Why do we have Dishwashers and not Garbage Disposals? A lot of the time I have to throw away any unwanted food that might be soft enough to go down in my toilet. In my opinion, a Garbage Disposal is or should be a necessity in apartments, having a dishwasher is or should be a luxury.

04/05/25 I am editing my original post. I felt that my 1st post was not fair, as I only mentioned the negatives and only have 2 stars. There are a lot of positives here at Residence of Silver Hill, management and leasing staff are very helpful and pleasant to work with, maintenance and team are good with responding to maintenance issues in a timely manner and lastly the grounds are kept clean and maintained… still confused about “Velet Trash” 🤷🏾‍♂️ that said I am changing from 2 stars to 4 stars.

I’ve been living here for almost a year. I have absolutely 0 complaints. The leasing personnel have been amazing, Destiny is the best. James shows up to fix anything needs fixing ASAP. The place is clean, Organized and calm. The rental office has taken care of every issues almost right away. It’s top service at a decent price. I definitely recommend.

I moved here about 8 years ago and have been pretty satisfied with the landscaping the apartment and the office management. Unfortunately the office management changes every couple years so you have to start relationships and communication all over again. This year when I was given a new lease not a renewal lease to sign they wanted to increase my rent $128 a month which is astronomical to me since there aren't amenities. There's no gym, concierge, business office (copy, fax etc). Also the water, gas & sewer goes up constantly. I do appreciate the upkeep & landscaping but there has been over growth in our parking lot that blocks 3 spaces. A tree branch broke my back window & my tire was flatten. These were my cost to cover & the camera system is not made available to the residences. I've never had issues with bugs or rodents & the cleaning lady does good work. I'd like a little better but she does work hard. My issue this year is my lease. I was able to get it lowered to the legal amount of 3%. According to the Prince George new statue. But they only have me a 6 month lease not 1 year as they've done for the last 8 years. I believe this way they get to increase again another new amount. They also needed new proof of income. They currently receive 1\2 of my income. I've never had problems with any tenants & my bldg has always been quiet. So my score is based on my new lease & not having any real amenities. Although they do have a dog park & bbq with swings area. Neither are for me personally. Moving is very expensive but I think I'm being forced out since they've once increase all rents & they will get more from new tenet. If you can for what they're asking for you can do better. Look for those amenities. Getting your packages stolen will happen if no is there to let in delivery service.

UPDATE!

Very quickly after posting my review I received a personal call from the apartment manager, Cherish Diggs. I have found her to be pleasant, helpful & professional in the past & her reaching out to me yesterday really took my opinion of her to an even higher level. I was truly taken by surprise. At 64 I don't expect the same experience with businesses as it used to be (in the olden days), which was hands on & personal. People needed your business. That is not how life operates now so her telling me I matter as a renter really made me feel special, seen & appreciated. She thoroughly explained the changes in policy & why. All of which made sense. She cleared up & explained all of my concerns. I've increased my score to 4 which I have been conflicted to raise to a 5 but there's always room for improvement. I am back to being completely happy I live here. The grounds are lovely, security doors give me an added sense of safety & having only 4 units to each section also helps because you're not dealing with a bunch of strangers in & out. Maintenance has always responded within 24 hours or just hours if there's been an emergency regardless of day or time. The gentlemen that have worked in maintenance have also been respectful, kind & professional. I've never been made to feel like a bother. As I stated before I've seen a lot of personnel changes but I've never had a bad experience. Oh, Ms Diggs also informed me they're setting up a system where deliveries will be left inside the bldg & not left on the porch.

The of the people was amazing this this decent apartment I ever been to. They was very friendly as well. I been here now for two years now I enjoy living in this complex, but I will say that I was kind of disappointed because I had to move out because my lease is up.. And I wanted to stay, but my walls have not been fixed at all, but I will definitely say thank you so much Silverhill apartments. I really enjoy this complex and y’all will be missed. I will be moved out on the 27th of this month. I did not know my lease was up this soon. I’m so sorry about inconvenience. I just wanted to say that thank y’all so much for having me and your property.

I lived here a couple years ago and got robbed at gun point. The property was no help because guess what? No cameras were used to assist the police if there were even any to begin with. This place is not safe at night. Esp if you live alone. Go somewhere else the extra money you end up paying will be for your safety. We had noisy neighbors above us, and we lived feet away from the leasing office. Multiple complaints to the office about them being very loud very early in the morning blasting music, it went on for months to the point we had to show video evidence of the noise and we even were told the previous occupants complained about the noise as well and the property still did nothing. Don't move here. Oh and parking is first come first serve. There is parking behind the buildings but in the front it fills up super fast, they'll tow you without a second thought.
