Denied Food pantry because I did not have a state issued ID. I did have a US passport, voter ID, Snap benefit card and Utilities bill. I can vote with no ID but I cannot have any food. Since when did we stop honoring US passport. Thanks to the Prison Ministries for the food that they gave me that same day. It was a blessing and I am truly thankful.

This place is one of the only places that will try their best to help you if they can! I am only giving a 4 just because sometimes it can be frustrating trying to reach just one person instead of having to explain your story 4 times !! But other than that thanks for the help !!

The CAC may be a great way to get help. However, the customer service on the phone is terrible. First of all the woman had a terrible attitude because she couldn’t find my file and then she hung up on me. This was all after I received and letter in the mail saying my was automatically enrolled in energy assistance. Who knows if i’ll be receiving any of that.

Stopped in to get some help since my son and I just moved back to the area. Was told we had to be in the state for about a month then also be 2 weeks homeless and living on the street. We only been in Hagerstown for 2 weeks, completely out of money and no where to go...and this is what we are told to do, they didn't care

I was denied for Maryland Energy Assistance my only income is social security food stamps and medical assistance. Additionally I requested an application to appeal my denial I was told I had 15 days to do so they said they were going to mail me this documentation to file. I live not even 1 mi away and I waited 12 days and still nothing ever came I called several times asking for the documents to file the appeal for my denial it never came. Under Maryland Energy Assistance protocol I completely qualified 100%. These people are you useless I have no idea who they help but they do not help the needy or disabled... such a shame I wonder where their grant money goes because it certainly doesn't go to people who need it who qualify...

I really don't like leaving poor reviews however I applied for rental assistance months ago and was told that I made too much money. Now I've applied for eviction protection and was told I didn't make enough money. You really can't make that up. The system is really broken

When you enter grab a ticket, sit down and listen for your number to be called. The staff here is efficient and working hard to take care of people. Services offered include food bank card, utility help, housing and rent help. Everyone here was pleasant and things were orderly moving along quickly. If you apply for a food bank card you will have to return to pick it up but you will still leave with food the same day. Important to know if your situation is dire. The staff is respectful to clients as far as I have seen even on previous visits. ID and ss card and proof of residency may be required so bring your documents with you if you have them. Paperwork can be completed in house or taken with and returned later if necessary. Parking lot is a tight fit but usually a spot open. Don't be afraid to ask questions about what is available. I have found the paperwork to be easy and straightforward. Thanks to the staff for being here to help folks fallen on hard times
